In Feb-March 2020, I participated in the annual MIT Battlecode challenge. Although our team did not make it to the finals, the project, a somewhat intense routine of applied software engineering opportunising on the artifice of the battlecode client (a multithreaded ai robot game application) with an emphasis on professional development, is mostly an exercise in owning the method act of project & team management. I managed a team of three students over four two-week sprints, honing those Java/Mockito skills, practicing using Travis CI and integerating several other github tools for code review, cyclomatic complexity and other various inspections.
